Eat Delicious Super Foods…and Make a List of Affirmations
Super Power Super Foods
Today I am in San Francisco visiting my oldest friend. I wanted to go to one of the raw food restaurants here, so made our way to Café Gratitude. It was quite the experience.
As we walked in we were immediately told how amazing we are.
We sat outside among the trees and crystals and were asked by our waiter if we wanted water and what we were grateful for. This is the café initiation process. Sitting across from my friend that I have known since I was 8 made this easy.
List of Affirmations
We ordered the “I am abundant” dish which is a mixture of raw delights including nachos, spicy soup, cashew cream cheese, olive tapenade, pesto on a nut cake, spring rolls, and other super foods.
We also ordered the “I am treasured,” a raw mango, coconut and avocado smoothie and the “I am delicious,” a hempseed, date, maca mixture.
If you say “I want the raw lasagne please,” you are gently encouraged to call it by its spiritual nickname “I am fabulous” instead. This is what café gratitude is all about…making a list of affirmations for yourself and the world and being grateful for everything in your life…and enjoying super foods.
They repeat your orders back to you “you are treasured”, “you are abundant” and my personal favorite “you are delicious.”
We learned that the gratitude café began as a place to play the game of gratitude, invented by the owners. This is a board game has lists of affirmations and questions such as:
· Name a way that you really believe in yourself
· When do you lose your trust in (the universe, God, spirit etc) around money or supply.
· Name something amazing about your mother.
One of the waiters came over and explained that when you land on a certain box on the board, everyone has to laugh for one full minute. “Do you want to try it?” he asked. My friend and I answered of course…we were already laughing.
He got everyone that worked in the whole restaurant to come over and we timed ourselves for one minute of extreme laughter. It really was hilarious.
The waiters spent a lot of time chatting with us about raw food, superfood, grateful living, abundance, and other various topics. These guys were fantastic.
I love this place! I agree…if we can feel grateful for our life and what we have everyday in every moment, we are going to feel fabulous. I imagine that most of the world’s problems would slowly begin to disintegrate if everyone regularly cultivated this attitude. Our health and our life could be transformed.
We really do have infinite things to be thankful for. Even when things aren’t going as we would like, we can be thankful for the lessons that these experiences might provide. It’s a simple idea that can take a little work to turn into reality.
As we left it really felt like stepping out into the real world. We realised that we had been in there for hours. It was definitely a little bubble of love.
If you happen be in San Francisco, Berkley or Marin County, I can’t recommend highly enough checking out Café Gratitude. Even if you feel that this is way out of your comfort zone, you might find that you embrace the cheese (vegan of course) and come out feeling a little more grateful for what you have.
They are about to open one in Los Angeles, and their dream is to have them all over the world to spread gratitude and love with the most amazing super foods and raw food treats.
