Defy Age Naturally

Yesterday I decided to make a new type of chocolate…one that is more “milky”, and nearly white. If you have read my article How to Make Your Own Raw Chocolate, you will know that I have gone bananas (chocolate ones of course) for making my own raw chocolate.

So since my friend Claire is coming tonight, and she is a bit sensitive to copious amounts of chocolate, I decided to make this latest recipe:

100g cocoa butter

30g raw chocolate powder

90 g lucuma

and a drop of agave nectar (you need a lot less than if you are using the mesquite because lucuma is much sweeter)

I added some chopped up almonds at the end to bulk it out and cut down on the sweet.

Delicious!

There has been so much research on chocolate out lately…maybe it is because I am so incredibly excited about it that I attract it, but it does seem that everywhere I look there are new benefits of chocolate being discovered.

Apparently, chocolate may help prevent cardiovascular disease in diabetics.

Research has shown that people with diabetes who drank a special cocoa high in flavanols for one month showed dramatic improvements in their blood vessel function. In fact, the improvements they noticed were as high as those found in taking drugs. Flavanols are phytonutrients (plant nutrients) that are part of the super foods super power of chocolate.

Most importantly, raw chocolate is something that we can all make at home, it tastes absolutely beyond delicious, it is packed with nutrients, it makes us feel fantastic, and… it is quite simply one of the greatest foods on the planet!
