Ayahuasca: The Most Powerful Plant on the Planet
I spoke a little bit about an experience I had with Ayahuasca a couple of months ago. Since then I have done two more ceremonies, one this last weekend. Ayahuasca is a healing plant medicine used in shamanic practice. It is used on many levels, from the physical to the emotional and ultimately the spiritual.
Since doing Ayahuasca I feel that my whole life is changing in ways that I never possibly imagined, and I am watching all of the other people in the ceremonies rave about the transformations that are taking place in their life.
This plant is allowing people to experience states that are generally only experienced by very few. One of the guys on the course told me that he has been practicing meditation in India for one year without any mind blowing results. But in only two nights with Ayahuasca, he encountered the experiences that he had only managed to read about in ancient scripts.
In my experience I have had a glimpse of my higher self, experienced the most amazing unconditional love, and have begun to break free of some of the deepest structures that are holding my ego together and keeping me from living my full potential and in true happiness… and that is just scratching the surface. Up until now I have read about these experiences over and over again, year after year, book after book. Ayahuasca has meant that they are no longer just intellectual ideas and possibilities, but true knowledge and experience that is transforming my whole way of life.
And I have only done it three times! I cannot imagine what else I could possibly find on the planet that could give me such insights in such a short amount of time.
Spiritual masters have told us for millenia that when we only live in the mind, we are living in an illusion. We are tricked into believing that we are all sorts of things that we are not. We keep these patterns going throughout our lives, but it is such a drain on our energy and such hard work. Because we don’t know any other way, and because we believe on such a deep level that we are what our minds tell us we are, we are not able to experience true freedom.
The great teacher Ram Das says “We’re sitting under the tree of our thinking mind, wondering why we’re not getting any sunshine.” Considering the lack of sunshine that we have had this summer here in England, I could definitely use some serious cosmic sunshine!
I am currently reading Eckhart Tolle’s new book “A New Earth”. It talks about how it is now time for many people, not just the rare few, to evolve beyond our minds and our egos so that we can live our life in Truth. I absolutely believe this, and I also believe that Ayahuasca is an incredible tool to help us fast track out of the mind and access these higher states of consciousness.
Improved Health
Dennis Mckenna and Charles S Grob did a study on the Unaio De Vegetal church in Brazil who use Ayahuasca as their sacrament. They studied people in this church who were drinking Ayahuaca tea every week for a period of several years. They also studied a control group who had never tried Ayahuasca. They found unanimously that people who regularly drank Ayahuasca were better integrated in themselves and into society. People with addictions to cocaine, heroin and alcohol tended to stop using them.
They also measured the serotonin levels in the brain. While serotonin levels generally decrease with age, they found that people who take Ayahuasca have high levels of serotonin right up into old age. This means that Ayahuasca has a positive effect on our health and actually helps us Defy Age Naturally!!
There is also a lot of evidence that ayahuasca is a powerful cure for anxiety and depression.
While I haven’t read any scientific studies on this point, I am fairly certain that people who regularly take this healing medicine will be less likely to encounter illnesses such as alzheimer’s and dementia.
If you know anything about Ayahuasca, you probably know that this plant can make you get physically sick, or purge. According to Shamanism (as well as my own experience), this purging helps us to become free of emotional baggage (that mind stuff discussed above that is keeping us from living in Truth). But this purging also helps people to get rid of worms, parasites, flukes, and other toxins that keep us from enjoying optimum health.
There are even cases of people curing themselves from serious illnesses including cancer. Research is slowly but surely being done to scientifically explore and validate the effects of Ayahuasca (although not nearly enough of it, especially when you consider how much research is being done on pointless medications that have a crazy long list of side effects. But then ayahuasca can’t make drug companies millions.)
Personally, the fact that I feel so much happier and freer and have watched so many others improving their lives in the most incredible and dramatic ways is all the proof that I need to know that for me this is the most powerful plant on the planet (Amazing! Incredible! Mind blowing… quite literally!)
One last thing… while anyone can take ayahuasca, I believe it is best to do a certain amount of physical detoxing and self development first. This will allow you to access the gifts given by this plant more easily. But then if you have made it to this site, you are probably on your way!

It’s funny because I just found your blog for the first time and it’s like I knew you had done medicine ceremonies. I’ve done 5 Ayahuasca ceremonies and the 5th time the medicine herself told me “I’m done with you”. It definitely changed my dna and I was given a full glimpse of what humanity is entering in these years leading to 2012. This medicine reveals great light but also great darkness. It truly is the most powerful medicine plant on the planet.
